This membership type is for those whose time OR income attributed to journalism work accounts for at least 40% of all work
Membership rate: $75 per year
This membership type is for those whose time OR income attributed to journalism work accounts for at least 40% of all work, but whose overall income is below $30,000 per year.
Membership rate: $40 per year
Proof of income is required and must be uploaded to your membership profile upon application and annually. Email reminders for this are sent out annually. If information is not provided annually, membership will renew at regular rate of $75 per year.
This membership type is for those whose time OR income attributed to journalism work accounts for at least 40% of all work
Membership rate: $140 every two years
This membership type is for those whose time OR income attributed to journalism work accounts for at least 40% of all work
Membership rate: a one-time fee of $1,500
This membership type is for students enrolled in a secondary or recognized post-secondary journalism program or who work in the student media on a regular basis during the academic year.
Membership rate: $20 per year

This membership is for retired journalists who are no longer actively working. For a full definition of this, please refer to the CAJ bylaws.
Membership rate: $60 per year
This membership is for those who do not meet the criteria for professional membership as per CAJ bylaws, such as part-time journalists (where time OR income are less than 40% of journalism work), Comms/PR folks, and non-journalists.
Membership rate: $75 per year
(Associate Members are not eligible to vote in CAJ elections, run for CAJ board positions, or qualify to order CAJ membership ID cards)
