The CAJ is seeking a post-secondary student intern to work with the CAJ board of directors and other journalists. The internship will run from September 23 to December 15, 2019.

This opportunity is open exclusively to post-secondary students who can use the internship program for academic credit.

Duties include: conducting interviews and writing articles for the CAJ's monthly newsletter, website and social platforms; assisting with student membership drives; assisting with research for selected board committees; assisting with coordination of the CAJ's annual awards program. Most of the work will be done remotely since the CAJ's board members are spread out across the country and we don’t have a main office.

We offer a small honorarium ($500), a free one-year CAJ membership, and a CAJ membership card.

Applicants are to submit a one-page letter of interest, a copy of their CV, and up to three published pieces.

Please send all inquiries and applications to [email protected] with the subject line 'CAJ internship September 2019'.

Internship applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. ET on September 15, 2019.

The Canadian Association of Journalists is a professional organization with more than 700 members across Canada. The CAJ's primary roles are public-interest advocacy work and professional development for its members.
