DEFAMATION LAW IN THE INTERNET AGE: FOCUS GROUP

The Law Commission of Ontario (LCO) has commenced public consultations in its Defamation Law in the Internet Age project. The project considers how defamation law should be updated to account for “internet speech,” including social media, blogs, internet platforms and digital media. The LCO is inviting interested journalists to participate in an informal focus group on April 26 from 1-4 pm to discuss their experiences with journalism in the internet age–and with defamation or defamation law. Confidentiality will be respected.

The focus group will take place at Ryerson University.
