Mind the gap: panel on 'ethnic' and 'mainstream' media relationship

As the journalism industry endures constant change, niche publications can get lost in the shuffle. Find out how some members of the ethnic press have handled their own evolution—and what lessons the mainstream media can learn. In addition to discussing collaboration, they will also address the challenges their organizations face in 2018.

This panel discussion, sponsored by the Toronto chapter of the CAJ and Centennial College, will discuss how 'mainstream' and multicultural media organizations can better collaborate in order to tell the stories relevant to an ever-changing Canada.

Panel to include: Maria Saras-Voutsinas contributor to a Greek Canadian Monthly newspaper where she writes about contemporary cultural issues. Logan Logendralingam: Uthayan Newspaper, Canada's No.1 Tamil Newspaper. Moses A. Mawa President & CEO, Silvertrust Media, Executive Producer, Afroglobal Television Network. Shahram Tabe, Shahrvand Publications. Jurij Klufas, Executive Producer, KONTAKT Ukr TV Network. Moderated by Camille Dundas, the co-founder and editor in chief of ByBlacks.com, an online magazine which is currently ranked #1 among online publications serving the Black Canadian community.
