2018-20 Director Elections

Per the CAJ bylaws, nominations were received from all Class A members in good standing for the positions outlined below. The following positions were open for nomination for a 2018-20 term:

  • B.C. regional director
  • Alberta regional director
  • Saskatchewan regional director
  • Atlantic regional director
  • Northern Canada (Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut) regional director
  • National director (three positions)

 

As of the close of nominations, the following positions were acclaimed:

  • B.C. regional director
  • Atlantic regional director
  • Northern Canada regional director

 

There were six nominees for the three available national director positions. As a result, an election will be held. All eligible members are to receive a ballot via email on April 5, 2018 (or later if they register after this date). Voting will take place until 11:59 p.m. ET on April 27, 2018.

Are you eligible to be a regional director in Alberta or Saskatchewan? If you'd be interested in being appointed to the board for a one-year term, please contact the returning officer.

Nominees for regional director positions must live in the region they would be representing. National directors can be any Class A member working anywhere in Canada.

Nomination and election timelines

  • Nominations will close on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 11:59 p.m. ET
  • For those positions where an election will be needed, voting instructions for a secure, online voting website will be emailed to all members in good standing eligible to vote for that position by Thursday, April 5, 2018.
  • The deadline for casting ballots will be April 27, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. ET
  • The results of the election will be announced and confirmed by those members in attendance during the CAJ annual meeting, scheduled for May 6 at the Toronto Hyatt Hotel.
  • Terms of office for those acclaimed and elected to positions begin at the conclusion of the May 6 annual meeting and will run until the annual meeting in 2019.
